Dedication of the New Front Steps

The Dedication of St. Benedict Catholic School's Newly Restored Historic Steps

The St. Benedict Catholic School community will celebrate its 90th anniversary this coming year.  In preparation for this celebration, many improvements are being made to the school building.  The first of these projects was a complete restructuring of the steps on Grove Avenue that lead up to the front doors of the school.

"These historic steps," said Glen Sturtevant, School Board member, "were revitalized first to show that we are moving towards the future.  We look back at the 90 years of excellent education our school has provided, but we also look ahead to the students who will climb these steps for years to come.  We are proud of our traditions, but also see how our school will lead generations of young learners into the future through technology integration, a challenging curriculum, and a focus on strong Catholic values."

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 28th.  The bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Bishop DiLorenzo, will be present on this exciting day.  All members of the community are invited to attend.
