Curriculum
The Diocese of Richmond provides all schools in the diocesan region with a Consensus Curriculum that they are required to follow. The Office of Catholic Schools determines the curriculum and revises each subject on a rotating basis.
Students take music twice a week in grades K-5 and once a week in middle school. Art is taken in grades K-8 unless students enroll in a foreign language for grades 7 and 8.
Students in kindergarten take Spanish for the full year. In grades 1 and 6, students take a semester each of Spanish and Latin. Grades 2-5 take Latin exclusively. In grades 7 and 8, students have the choice of taking Spanish or Latin for one high school credit over the course of two years. In order to obtain the high school credit, they must pass a diocesan examination at the conclusion of the course.
Students take physical education once a week in grades K-8.
