“Let children have tales of the imagination, scenes laid in other lands and other times; heroic adventures, hairbreadth escapes, delicious fairy tales, even where it is all impossible, and they know it, and yet they believe.” Charlotte Mason
We are excited to have our Junior Kindergarten program moving into its second year. Our goal is to provide a nurturing and happy environment for your child to grow. They will be challenged as an individual and begin to develop a life-long love of learning that is true, good, and beautiful. Children are naturally curious, and we help them to playfully explore their world and discover the connectedness with their God.
Using fables, fairy tales and beautiful stories of the saints, we explore the virtues and strive to live them in our classroom. The natural world comes to life at our nature center that is filled with tangible gifts created by God. This helps us as we live out the Liturgical Year and follow the rhythm of the seasons.
In order to be eligible, students must turn 4 years old by September 30 of the year they intend to enroll. Students in the Junior Kindergarten will not wear the school uniform. Families who are interested in the program should submit an application, copy of the child’s birth certificate, and a pre-school evaluation if the child is currently enrolled in a pre-school.
The program is Monday through Thursday from 8:30AM – 12:00PM. We also offer an extended day option from 12:00PM – 3:00PM. There will be a maximum of 20 students.
We also have a Friday program for pre-school students. The program is a Montessori-style religious education program called Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. The Friday program may be taken on its own or combined with the regular Junior Kindergarten. Parents looking to enroll their child into the program must ensure that their child is turning 4 years old by September 30 of the year they intend to enroll.
