Dini Howell - Grade 3

Parents,

We have been busy in 4th grade this week learning about rules, procedures, our classroom, & each other.  The children completed 2 time capsules. One about their personal likes and the other about school likes/dislikes & strengths/weaknesses.  They also completed a handwriting sample of their best cursive handwriting.  These will be kept in my files the entire year.  At the end of the school year, the children will again complete these sheets without looking at the beginning of the year sheets.  They will then be given the 2 sets of sheets to compare.  In this way, the children will see how they have grown or changed.  They also drew a picture of themselves to compare at the end of the year.  This is always a great activity not only for me to learn more about the children, but for them to learn more about themselves.  

We also completed scavenger hunts using our social studies & science texts, completed 2 math inventories, journaled Grace Notes & read Sunday's Gospel.

This week we participated in music with Mr. Dorn & Mrs. Dargon.  We also attended our first PE with Mr. Massett.  We will need to change PE to Tuesdays and library Wednesdays due to Minds in Motion (MIM) that will begin in Oct.  Children will come to school in their PE uniform on PE & MIM days.

Latin - Friday (Mass on Friday)
