Thanksgiving week!

This week we will have a nice short week learning about Thanksgiving. We will continue working on counting, sorting, patterns, and our letter sounds as we match turkeys, and fill thanksgiving plates with food! We will read about Thanksgiving and turkeys, and we will make some fun Thanksgiving crafts. Enjoy your long Thanksgiving weekend!!!

11/14-11/17

We have already learned 9 letters this year in Prek! We are going to take a break this week and review the letters we have learned so far A-I. We will focus on differentiating among these letters that we have learned, especially the vowel sounds. By the end of the week hopefully the whole class will also have mastered writing each letter correctly. Throughout the week we will also spend time focusing on counting and one to one correspondence. Of course we will also begin preparing for Thanksgiving next week =)

11/7-11/10

Last week we had a wonderful All Saints Day party! Thank you to everyone who helped.  This week is the letter I! We are already on our third vowel, and the students have been doing great. This week we will talk about iguanas, inchworms, igloos, and insects, play instruments, and learn about Abraham and Isaac in Religion. The students will continue learning about estimating in Math this week. We will practice writing Ii and continue practicing our numbers. We will really focus on differentiating among the vowels we have learned so far (which can be tricky!)
