6th-8th Grade Final Test

The final music test for grades 6-8 will be on the following dates:

Ladies:  Monday, May 21st   Gentlemen:  Thursday, May 24th

The test will cover chapters 8-13, omitting chapter 12.  Students can use their notes as well as previous quizzes.  A review sheet will be available soon as well.

Need some extra points at the end of the quarter and year?  Here's an easy way to increase your grade by doing a short listening activity.

K-5 Write one paragraph on the following:

2nd Grade May Crowning Hymn

The hymn for the May Crowning is 'Thou That Art so Fair and Bright' from the 13th century.  It will be coming home in your folders and we will also work on it in class.  We will use music for the procession, so you do not need to memorize the stanzas.  I will email you a recording of the work so that you can practice at home.  God bless, Mrs. C.

One page essay on proper handbell technique. (How to hold the bell.)  Please also include information on how to find the note you play.  Due January 19th to your homeroom teacher.

Violin Concert - Extra Credit Assignment

Hisako Tokue will be performing a violin recital on Sunday, October 30th at 3 PM at St. Benedict Church.  Any students that come to the concert will receive extra credit for music class, in addition to the school free tag day.  There will be a sign-in sheet in the St. Joseph Parlor for students.   Please make sure your name is on the sign-in in order to receive credit.  Middle school students that attend, it will count as a quiz grade.
