Welcome to kindergarten! I look forward to seeing you and your child at school on Tuesday, August 31 for kindergarten orientation.

THis week we will focus on the letter Y (Yetta Yo-yo). Our sight word is "she." We are sounding out short e words. We are reading stories about the spring and baby animals.

We are learning how to tell time to the hour and how to count money.

We have been learing about Jesus' time on earth after He rose from the dead. We are learning about St. Catherineof Siena.

This week we will be reading books about the seasons. We are focusing on the order of events in stories. We will be learning about the letter W (Willy Worm). Our sight word is "play".

In Math we have been learning about the calendar and will start learning about time.

 We have been learning about what happened after Jesus rose from the dead.

 We are learning about catepillars and poliwogs.

Our letter this week is Z (Zelda Zebra). Our sight word is "have".  We are working with short i word.  This week our word family is -ig.  We are reading stories about wheels.

We are working on the numbers 6-12. We are practicing using number patterns to see what number comes next. We are also reviewing ordinal numbers through 12.

We are using Resurrection eggs to retell the last week of Jesus' life. We are also learning about the Sorrowful mysteries of the Rosary.

We are talking about and looking for signs that Spring is almost here.

 Our letter this week is Dd (Dudley Duck).  Our sight word is “for”.

We are sounding out short i words. We are reading stories and learning about wheels.

This week we will focus on the sound of hard c (Callie Cat). We continue to sound out short a words. Our sight word this week is "can". We are also reading books about friends and friendships. We are talking about how we can be good friends to each other.

 We are learning to graph and comparing sets using the words fewer and more than. We continue to count our way to 100 days of school.

We are learning about the people who were waiting for the Savior to come. We are lighting our Advent wreath and getting ready for Christmas.
