“Therefore
the Lord Himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with
child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14)
Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to all the families and
friends of St. Benedict Catholic School!
Our
annual Christmas Program, Lessons & Carols, will be held at
11:30am on Wednesday, December 21. Everyone is invited to attend
this beautiful event. Students will be dismissed directly from St.
Benedict Church. All students should have a ride to pick them up no
later than 12:30. There will be NO After-School Enrichment (ASE)
tomorrow, December 21.
Middle
school students should all wear their dress uniform tomorrow for
Lessons & Carols.
The
Saint
Benedict School Spring Gala
is scheduled for Saturday, February 18, 2012, in the Benedictine Gym.
This year, we are excited to announce a Mardi Gras celebration! All
parents should plan on attending this annual event. Lassez bon temps
roulez! Spring Gala plans are roulez-ing right along (see what we
did there?). Email Anne Kennon at awkennon@hotmail.com
if you are able to assist in making this year's Gala the best one
yet! Be on the lookout for lots of great plans that will kick off in
full when we return in January.
St.
Benedict Parish and School have hired a new Financial
Manager
to oversee the finances at the parish and school. At this point, all
payment, contract, and financial aid information should go through
the new Financial Manager, Mrs. Janet Gambill. Mrs. Gambill can be
reached by e-mail at jgambill@saintbenedictparish.org.
ASE
IS THE PLACE….FOR A CHRISTMAS PARTY!
Today
ASE will celebrate this holy and happy season with a party! We’ll
have games such as The Candy Cane Relay, The Rudolph Dash and Fill
the Christmas Stocking. A simple craft, music and treats. Any child
wearing Santa, reindeer or elf headgear will receive an extra ticket
to the raffle. Merry Christmas from the ASE crew!
Salt
and Light Theatre Company:
When
we return on Wednesday, January 4 we will have just three
opportunities to rehearse on the stage, in costume and with all props
and set pieces before the performance. I am asking that cast and
crew stay after the final rehearsal on Friday, January 6 to enjoy
pizza made possible by Mrs.Deshazo and the Robin Inn. We would also
like fruit tray, vegetable tray and case of bottled water- no soda
please, the sugar coats the vocal chords. We are feeding
approximately thirty people. The children would also enjoy an
after-performance Epiphany (Twelfth Night) cast party! Volunteers
are needed to organize it.
Also,
sign-up sheets have been sent home through the classroom/homeroom
teachers for Salt and Light’s next show, GO,
GO, Jonah!
By Kathy Hill. All forms and dues to provide scripts, music and
fees, should be turned into the classroom teachers by Tuesday,
December 20 so the materials can be ordered over Christmas break.
Thank you for your support of the children’s dramatic arts program
at St. Benedict School.
Thank
you to all of our families who helped support St. Benedict with their
Christmas shopping through SCRIP this year! If you're still looking
for a last minute gift, e-gift certificates are available through
www.shopwithscrip.com.
Please contact Jen Bellaver for more information,

or 254-2962. There are also a few cards still available for sale in

An
attachment is included with information about the 2012 March for
Life in Washington D.C. Students 11 years of age or older are
eligible to attend with the diocesan group. Because this is a
diocesan trip, students who attend will not be marked absent.

are now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year. If you
have a rising kindergarten student, please submit your application
now. Our first kindergarten screening is January 21 for parishioners
and school siblings. E-mail Stacey Nelson-Munro at
