Thanksgiving
marks the end of our summer uniform. Put away the shorts and skorts
until after Easter in the Spring.
Thank
you to all the volunteers who have helped fill in during Mrs.
D'Aria's absence! Without your help, the school office would not
have continued running smoothly.
The
St. Benedict Student Council will host the Parent/Child Christmas
Dance that will take place this Friday, Dec 2 from 7-8:30pm. One
of our esteemed Minds in Motion instructors, Willie Hinton, will be
here to lead the students and parents in Minds in Motion style
dancing. We encourage all families to get into the holiday spirit
with this fun evening. The cost is $5.00 per person with a $20.00
max per family.
St.
Benedict Parish and School have hired a new Financial
Manager
to oversee the finances at the parish and school. We are currently
in the transition phase, and Mrs. Whitlock-Robinson will continue
with us until December 13. At that point, all payment, contract, and
financial aid information will go through the new Financial Manager,
Mrs. Janet Gambill. Mrs. Gambill can be reached by e-mail at
jgambill@saintbenedictparish.org.
Have
you started selling your cookie dough, pretzels, and candles yet?
The PTO is sponsoring a free tag day (on Tuesday, December 13) for
any class that has 100% participation in our holiday fundraiser. All
we ask is that each person in the class sell at least ONE item, and
the tag day is yours! The class that sells the most items will get
an ice cream party on Tusday, December 20. Take advantage of all the
family togetherness over Thanksgiving, and sell
sell sell!
The classes that come in 2nd and 3rd (in number of items sold) will
win a fantastic duck t-shirt for their teacher (check it out at the
front office). Mark your calendar also for Cookie Dough pickup on
Thursday, December 15, from 2-6pm.
December
is not far off, so please take note of the various events listed in
the school calendar. December 8 is the Solemnity
of the Immaculate Conception.
It is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics. We will have a School
Mass at 8:30am with Benedictine College Prep. Our Advent
Penance Service
will be held December 14 starting at 8:30am. Priests will be
available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and parents are welcome
to join us. Our Santa
Shop
for the young students will be held on December 16. Students may
purchase gifts for their family from a Christmas store set up by the
8th
grade class. And don't forget to mark your calendar for our Annual
Lesson's & Carols.
The school Christmas program features inspiring Scripture passages
and seasonal songs from around the world. It will begin at 11:30am
in St. Benedict Church on December 21.
